see,when you make a game,before realeasing it,make sure BASIC COMMANDS WORK,i've seen games in earliers states that weren't as instable,with perfect controls of units and where hte menus where FINISHED
1.if you have a bad computer dont blame it on the game
2.You can exit the control menu there is a big X in the top right of the screen
3.You can make a castle defence thing dont be so childish and be like ¨oh this one unit doesn't go on the wall I suppose none of the other units can go either¨
4.Do you suppose that in the ancient world the armies were the most coordinated armies in history and this is a free work in progress game so dont expect the AI to be at the level of all the big companies.

Have you fixed the bug for Mac which causes the game to get stuck after the game starts? The bug where the game name shows up and then the screen is just stuck?
You don't need to in the next update, but sometime, will you add IronClads? And older subs like the Hunley? And, there is a kind of torpedo called a spar torpedo (The weapon on the Hunley) and it rams ships, and explodes! Can you try to add these?
Sorry but there is still no release date. The release date in game can't be disabled... The next update will release in max. 1-2 weeks, because there are heavy changes in terms of performance, graphics and the ocean battles are not 100% finished yet.
If I wouldn't support direct x9 gpus, the update would be ready tomorrow...

sailor (goes around the ship repairing holes,working the pumps,ect. and should have a dagger)
grapeshot cannon (fires a bunch of small projectiles that pierce the ship and do a ton of damage to crew)
Captain (has a flintlock in his right hand and a sabre in his left hand and should have double the health of a regular unit)
Molotov (a pirate that throws molotovs and burns enemy ships)
drunk pirate (this guy drank a bit to much beer....but he throws bottles at enemys and when the bottles hit something the glass goes and cuts everything around it so he's a bit.....useful?)
platypus (yep...this thing is actually harmful.the male one's anyways.it stabs enemys with the back of its feet poisoning enemys.and there small which makes them a hard target.who knew that such a cute and cuddly creature would be so deadly?)
special units:
Captain Black Beard (has a blunderbuss in his left hand and a sabre in his right hand and should obviously have a black beard and should have a lot of health)
Shark Rider (its a pirate with a blunderbuss on a shark and the shark bites chunks out of a ship and the pirate would shoot the enemys and if the pirate dies then the shark is still alive and if the shark dies then the pirate is still alive....but the pirate would drown or be eaten by other sharks or whatever)
sharkman (this guys a beast......literally.he can swim in water and has a shark head so he bites people and he can board enemy ships.he could take out a ship that has only sailors and little resistance by his self.)
octoman (........why?he is a beast like sharkman and can grab and throw or grab and eat people's heads off.he's actually good friends with sharkman and together they can destroy any ship.exept for very large ships,such as the man-o-war but they would damage it a lot.oh and he has the head and tentacles of a octopus.)
mega platypus (because platypuses weren't enough.this thing is absolutely huge and has lasers shooting out of its eyes.well it doesn't have lasers shooting out of its eyes but its huge.and stings people with the back of their feet poisoning them and the poison does more damage then a regular platypus.)

I just downloaded Ancient Warfare 2, and it launches fine, until I get past the "Ancient Warfare 2, made in Unity" screen, and it just gets stuck. It doesn't crash or freeze, just doesn't get past that screen. I'm running the game on a Macbook Air (late 2010) on the latest version of Mac OS (Sierra). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I made a SUPER HARD gauntlet/challenge map about a month ago and figured I would share it again :) If you haven't seen it yet, check it out! Not impossible, but incredibly tough!
you should be able to pick how to swing your weapons because weapons such as the spear swing instead of stab sometimes and if you wanted to do a sideways attack with a sword you could do that.

Combat is lackluster, you hit an enemy, nothing to it, you dont parry, you dont dodge, you just hit or dont. That doesnt make for very exhilirating combat, enemies will also just stand 50 metres away while you bombard them with arrows, why dont they walk toward you? This game needs a lot of work before its fun
High school?! a solo dev in high school made a game this good?! You are my hero man! I really want to learn to code but I have no idea where to start. im currently going to community college and coding classes are down the line but i can't wait that long. Do you have any idea how I can get started?
The best way to learn coding is to just start. Create small projects with some topics you are intersted in. You can use google, there are many people who shared their code for many different type of projects. You can start to use only their code and try to understand it. Google every keywords, syntax,... you don't know and comment the lines of the code to understand it.
After that, you will have to try to modify others code or you can write your own small programs with code snippets from the internet.
Forums like stackoverflow are very useful to learn programming, because you will find many code snippets of experienced programmers and questions from learning coders.
There will be one day that all the code makes sense (at least I made that experience). Now you can write more and more your own code. Everytime you don't know a solution, you can use the internet, but don't be to lazy, try to find your own solution by thinking logical step by step first.
One last important advice: Don't copy and paste others code! Copy their code by writing it yourself. This will help you to learn the syntax and error messages from the console.
The rest is more experience. If you stuck with a problem, you will always find a solution, just be patient. You will learn more and more, also concepts like oop or component based coding, but you have to learn and UNDERSTAND the basics first.
Side note: spears are useless. I'ts end is simply too small and i'ts too hard to get the exact distance required to kill somebody by swinging. Plus the idea of a spear (and a spear wall) is that your opponent can't get to you without impaling himself. It would be cool if the player had very similiar mechanics to the bots (for example: you could damage enemies by simply walking into them with a weapon)
Side note 2.0: Horses are useless. Any short weapon is too short to damage enemies standing under you. Plus they just die in one hit from anything, so they're even more useless for the player.
Besides that i have no side notes. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for your feedback/suggestions. There was this behaviour that weapons would always kill, even if you haven't attacked, but many people didn't like that behaviour... The horses will need some serious balancing, but I will find a solution.

I don't know then I will add chariots to the game. The priority is on ocean battles at the moment.
Since its ancient warfare please dont add like modern planes but if you can please make archimedee's plane and helicopter.

Yes, youcan place units on ships, but they will work without them, too.
And I won't add modern stuff to this game, but there will be a spin off.

You are right! Of course I will have to do improvements, but I'm a solo developer, so the development is a bit slower...
And yes, I will improve the AI behaviour soon, but the concept of the game is minimalistic, so they won't behave like elite warriors.

What happened to the campaign?
I removed it in the last update, because it was a bit old. There will be level bundles toplay a new campaign.

You need to add stairs to the building because ranged weapons and catapults are the only way in.
